Leatherman 68010101K Crunch Pocket  with Leather Sheath

Good and Clever multitool.I will keep this short and to the point. The Crunch is a spectacular demonstration of what ingenious folks can do when they get busy. Locking pliers that fold away into a tiny package.Meeting (you must check out the Leatherman video on their website) is fast once you do it the primary time and folding is also simple. The tool appears very strong, though all I've used it for thus far is some light work like key straightening. It's higher thought-out grip-sensible than my Wave (which has raised blood blisters with its tough flesh trapping handles), though the blades are no so successful story. Not that they are bad. The Philips-head is especially optimistic in grip, an example of how to make such drivers properly. It is simply that the blades are of necessity brief, and the adjuster screw stands proud into the place you'll be chopping if you happen to try and do the job with the instrument folded up.

Unfolded means it would flop around as you move. The knife is about as quick as you need to get with a blade (a hair over 1.75 inches), and the file, nicely, I've my doubts on how helpful a file of 1.5 inch usable size will be to me.I've had a couple of the standard folding pliers that I assumed would make me happy, however simply ended up in a drawer. The vise grip action makes these just a lot more useful. Popping the vise grip into place seemed a bit of awkward at first, but it surely shortly grew to become second nature. Typically I exploit it as a faucet handle or lock it onto a screwdriver shank to get additional torque. I do know that sounds crude, but if you are the form of person who can get something performed that approach while someone else remains to be standing round questioning what to do.

Additionally, on mine the lock is tough to disengage. It is simpler to unfold a second blade midway and launch the lock that manner than use the thumb release. If this have been my only belt instrument I is perhaps in search of further solutions to the non-plier problems I get, however it isn't. I already own another Leatherman product or two. I'm very happy with the Crunch over all and it joins my Wave and the bit set on my belt as everyday device-rediness. If Leatherman redesign this very clever little tool I believe they should embody the Wave's screwdriver bit holder and a big screwdriver/prybar, and use the saved area for maybe an awl.<<more information>>
